Driver fled scene after collision that left cyclist injured

A CYCLIST was injured following a collision with a car, whose driver fled the scene without stopping.

The incident happened at 9.15am today (Saturday, 1 January) in Romford Road, South Ockendon.

A statement from Essex Police says: "Officers attended and established a car and bicycle were involved.

"The cyclist has sustained injuries to their head and collarbone but they are not described as life-threatening or life-changing.

"The vehicle failed to stop at the scene and our enquiries are ongoing to locate it.

"If you saw anything, have any CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage, or have any information please get in contact with us.

"Please quote incident 926 of 1 February.
