Tilbury library and hub to celebrate extended hours
TO mark its new extended opening hours, next weekend Tilbury Library and Hub on the Civic Square will be holding a day of activities including rhyme time and story time sessions for babies and children and a pop-up book club and job club taster session for adults.
The event takes place on Saturday, 8 February from 10am to 2pm and will include a welcome and speech from local councillor and borough mayor, Cllr Kairen Raper at 11am.
Rhyme time for babies and toddlers under five years old will take place from 10.30am to 11am followed by the Mayor's speech.
At 11.15am the Pop-up adult book club will take place in the round room and runs until noon.
Young people and adults aged 16 years and over will be able to enjoy a BookTrust special story time session from 11.30am to 12 midday and there will be a similar session for children aged five and over from 12.30pm to 1pm.

An e-library bitesize session with Aby will run from 1pm to 1.30pm
No booking is necessary for any of the sessions, just turn up.
Refreshments will be available on the day. Thurrock Community and Voluntary Services (CVS) will be in attendance, providing advice and information about volunteering in Tilbury.
Library staff will also be providing information on data gifting and online safety support.
Ahead of next Saturday's event, the library will hold a free-to-attend Fairytale Storytime on Tuesday (4 February) to celebrate National Storytelling Week with puppets and stories and a small craft activity.
It runs from 4.30 to 5.30pm. All ages welcome.
