POLICE officers from Thurrock's Community Safety & Engagement team visited the children of Chadwell St Mary Scout Group this week.

The officers provided a 'show and tell' of Policing for Essex and highlighted the importance of communication, listening and respecting others to the group's Eagles Cubs.

Children were shown the uniform and the different types of police equipment, including the types of hats worn, handcuffs used, batons, and tactical vests.

They were also given the chance to see and sit inside a marked police vehicle.

A spokesperson for the officers said: "The Eagles Cubs were brilliant throughout and seemed to thoroughly enjoy trying on our police equipment.

"If you're involved with any local youth groups and would like us to attend and give a crime prevention talk, or would just like officers to talk about general policing, please email: [email protected]."
