A THURROCK organisation is making music after a gift from a borough Lodge of the Freemasons.

Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions (TLS), a community interest company which champions the cause of disadvantaged people, was delighted to receive an unexpected gift from the Henry de Gray Lodge, No. 6627 Thurrock last week.

The donation of £500 was given in recognition of the 'Liam's Legacy Nightclub'; part of the community interest memorial to a much-loved director of TLS Liam Coffey. It has been five years since his passing, which generated one of the biggest ever funerals in Tilbury and the formation of his legacy fund.

Neil Woodbridge of Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions said: "We always have Liam in our hearts and his memorial nightclub that runs out of the council's Thameside Theatre foyer is a great fun event that we run in partnership with the Council and local artists.

"Our disabled DJs decided that they could put the money towards some new speakers and a mixer, so that when life gets back to allowing socialising, they will be ready to start the party! We would like to say a really big thank you for this donation giving us all something to look forward to in these difficult times."

Sunny Saini, Director of Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions said "Liam was a good friend to me. I can't wait to start playing live again – thank you so much".
