THE impact of Covid-19 on Graham James Primary School in Corringham means that the school is to close its doors tomorrow (Monday, 14 December) - with pupils asked to stay at home and undertake online learning.

Head teacher Petra Back has contacted parents and carers with a message saying: "We have received notification from several members of staff that have been contacted by track and trace and are required to self-isolate.

"After taking advice from Public Health England it has been decided that we do not have enough staff to safely open the school next week and will need to revert to online learning from Monday 14th December for all year groups. Staff will provide work for years R to 6 online and this will become available on Monday.

"If you have any concerns please contact the school via email at [email protected].

"Any parents that are key workers and are unable to find arrangements will be able to send their children in to school for the next four days. These children will need to form a new bubble and will also need to bring in a packed lunch. They do not need to wear uniform. We will be operating on a skeleton staff so the children will be provided with the same work as their peers and won't be taught by their usual teachers.

"Start time will be 8.45 am and close will be 3pm."
