A LANTERN parade, art installations and musical performances were hailed as a big success following an event in Grays on Friday evening (8 March).

Arts Outburst were the catalyst for the afternoon and evening event that started in Kilverts Field, wound its way through Grays town centre and then ended in Grays Town Park.

It was the conclusion of a series of community gatherings oganised by the Arts Outburst group that have brought music, performance, light installations and visual art to Thurrock.

Events began in Purfleet almost a year ago: https://thurrock.nub.news/news/local-news/purfleet-was-lit-up-to-the-beat-to-drums-176258.

Despite the bitingly cold wind, last night's event drew plenty of attendees including representatives of many local groups who had been working in making lanterns and displays for the parade.
