THURROCK'S First Pride event will take place later this year and details of it – plus information about how local people, organisations and businesses can get involved, will be shared at an event later this month.

The Thameside Theatre on Orsett Road in Grays will play host to an evening celebrating the borough's creativity, diversity, inclusivity, and the vibrant spirit of its community on Friday, 22 March, starting at 5pm.

A spokesperson for the borough's LGBTQ Network said: "Join us for an evening filled with excitement and anticipation as we unveil our plans for Thurrock's inaugural Pride event.

"From colourful parades to engaging workshops and thought-provoking discussions to electrifying performances, there will be something for everyone to enjoy and participate in.

"During the launch event, you'll have the opportunity to:

- Learn about the vision and mission behind Thurrock's First Pride.

- Discover the lineup of events, activities, and entertainment planned for the main Pride celebration.

- Meet the dedicated individuals and organizations who are working tirelessly to make Thurrock Pride a resounding success.

- Connect with fellow members of the community and allies who share your passion for equality and acceptance.

- Share your ideas, suggestions, and aspirations for Thurrock's LGBTQ+ community.

"Whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or simply wish to show your support as an ally, your presence at this event is invaluable.

"Together, we can create a more inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can live authentically and proudly.
