ANYONE interested in the heritage and history of High House in Purfleet and the area in general is being invited to join the community group that supports it.

High House Community Group has not been able to hold meetings since January 2020 because of the pandemic but is now hoping to reactivate and recently held its first meeting of the year by Zoom.

A stalwart of the group is Madeleine Emmerson who said: "We hope to get things underway again on site and need new members. Anyone with a general interest in High House, the production site, ROHT, Kinetika, Acme studios.

"The heritage and history of the place/Purfleet; myths and legends; childhood memories; anyone happy to help with handicrafts for the children; make cups of tea; sit and talk to visitors, tell them where the toilets are; shift chairs and tables; put up a marquee.

"We particularly would like anyone with expertise in digital production of leaflets, handouts, newsletters and knowledge of Mailchimp and newsletters. Our current graphic designer/expert is leaving us in September and we have plans for more leaflets, need of good photographers who also understand Publisher or similar programmes.

"And anyone with background knowledge of organisations - charity/fundraising/trusts etc

"We hold monthly meetings - but you don't have to attend them all, ditto events - we are now kicking off virtual meetings too."

Anyone interested can contact Madeleine through the Purfleet on Thames [L] https://www.facebook.com/groups/purfleetcommunity/permalink/5723065931044617 [L+] https://www.facebook.com/groups/purfleetcommunity/permalink/5723065931044617 [.F] group.

Madeleine added: "Please also comment if interested and not sure how you can help, I will message you to tell you our group email. I emphasise - attendance at meetings is not the main thing - it is background help and help on event days we need more than anything."
