A THURROCK family butchery business is in the running for national awards for two of its acclaimed sausages.

Reed's Family Butchers in Corringham town centre has been named as a national finalist in two categories at the UK Sausage Week 2026 Awards:

Its Lincolnshire sausage and Chicken & Herb sausage have been selected for final judgement from hundreds of products entered into this year's competition by butchers, retailers and manufacturers from across the UK.

Business principal Will Reed said: "Having two of our homemade sausages reach the national finals is a fantastic achievement for our family business and our team.

"Reed's Family Butchers has served Corringham since 2012. We recently celebrated our 14th anniversary and have grown from a small local shop into an award-winning butcher employing a team of 12 and providing home deliveries across Essex.

"The winners will be announced at the UK Sausage Week Awards lunch at Butchers' Hall in London on Monday, 26 October 2026, which our family and team will be attending.

"We are incredibly proud to be representing Corringham and Thurrock at a national industry event."
