THURROCK councillors will be told tomorrow (Tuesday, 14 October) that a green belt judgement call by its planning officers was spot on.
The outline application for four two-bedroom dwellings for over 55s on land adjacent to Patricia Drive in Fobbing was submitted by Alisia Aitken in January 2024 - and rejected by the council on grounds that it would cause harm to the greenbelt in September last year.
Ms Aitken disputed Thurrock Council's decision and appealed to the Planning Inspectorate, whose officer visited the site in August.

The visit and inspector's findings, which will be reported to councillors at a meeting of the authority's planning committee, ended up with the applicant's suggestion that the site was 'grey belt' and previously developed being rejected.
The appeal was dismissed.
