THURROCK Council is inviting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join The Den @ Summer; an inclusive, online social club designed to help attendees connect, get creative, and build life skills during the summer holidays.

Starting from Wednesday ,6 August, the free online sessions are open to children and young people with SEND aged 11 to 25 and will run throughout the summer.

Each themed session offers a fun and supportive space to make new friends, try new activities, and develop confidence.

Workshops include:

  • Digital art and storytelling
  • Logo design
  • Forest school-inspired activities
  • Creative play with everyday objects
  • Life skills for independence
  • Planning for the future
  • Youth forum for speaking up
  • Creating digital pinboards
  • Virtual social events like quizzes and talent shows

Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, Education and Community Safety, said: "This is a great initiative that can help some of the young people with SEND in our borough to connect with others, build confidence and stay entertained over the summer holidays. I'd really recommend joining one of the sessions, there's something for everyone."

All sessions are hosted on Microsoft Teams and are free to attend.

Complete the short registration form to attend a session.
