Kaydn doubles up in hit musical movie

WHILE thousands of cinema visitors across the country are enjoying the new Matilda the Musical movie, which will stream on Netflix at Christmas, they probably no idea they are watching the special talents of a Stanford-le-Hope youngster.

Last month Nub News brought you news of two Thurrock youngsters who appear in the hit film. While Jackson Osegbo-King and Lily-Anne Saillart have their time on screen, you don't get to see a third borough performer – ten-year-old Kaydn Jackson was the stunt double for the character Bruce Bogtrotter, played in the film by Charlie Hodson-Prior.

Kaydn got to meet all the leading members of the cast and also had his own trailer on the filming lot at Shepperton Studios and on location in Hampshire.

"It was an incredible experience for him," says proud mum Amy Louise Side, who accompanied Kaydn to the film's premiere in London's Leicester Square.

Kaydn, a rising star on the UK gymnastic scene, made news at the start of the year when he was selected to for the Great Britain high-performance programme.

As part of the elite performance men's program at South Essex gymnastics club Kaydn trains under the watchful eye of  Olympic triple Olympic champion Max Whitlock.
