SECURITY camera footage showing a late night crash on a Stanford-le-Hope residential road has highlighted concerns of residents.

The crash happened just before midnight on Saturday on Branksome Road and was published on social media by resident Bev Strawford.

She says: "This is what happens when cars are racing and speeding. Thankfully no one hurt but a lot of damaged down to me and my neighbour. We need to do something to stop cars speeding down Branksome Avenue! This could have been fatal."

Though the car driver initially fled the scene with other occupants of the car he later returned. Police have been involved.

Earlier this year Thurrock Council announced that it would be spending up to £250,000 on measures to make the road safer but work has not yet started.
