THE borough-based charity supporting local lonely and vulnerable people has hasd another successful event.

Thurrock Re-engage held a fundraising craft fayre in Belhus Village Hall arranged by volunteer group co-ordinator Maggie Whitlock.

Maggie says: "What an amazing day we had. Thank you to all the stallholders, your stalls all looked great.

"Our visitors had lots of tea and cake and really had fun on our tombolas.

Group members knitted items to sell towards the fundraising.

"Three of our elderly guests had their own stall selling all of their lovely knitted and sewn goods. We even had kittens there for a cuddle and we raised an amazing £820.

Special thank yous to Kim at Asda for the cake donations and to Danny, Sharon and Laura for your hard work on Friday and Saturday.

"We could not have managed without you.

"Lots more thank yous to everyone who helped to make this a special event, there are too many for me to name.

"Support for these events is very important so thank you all."

Regional co-ordinator Loraine Coleman said: "Thank you so, so much to Maggie for organising such a wonderful day.

"You worked so very hard over many months to make the day a success and enjoyable for everyone.

"I share Maggie's thanks to everyone who helped on the day and thank you to the lovely stallholders.

"And also, to everyone from our local community who came along to support us. Your generosity is truly appreciated."
