Man charged and due in court following incident when women joggers were seriously injured

A PROLONGED investigation into a collision which left two women runners seriously injured have secured charges against a man.
Essex Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit has continued its inquiries since the incident, which took place in Grays on the evening of Wednesday, 8 November 2023.
Two women were jogging along Dock Road shortly after 8.10pm when they were in collision with a vehicle at the junction with Marshfoot Road and Old Dock Approach Road.
The two women suffered serious and lasting injuries and their recovery, which has included substantive hospital treatment, remains ongoing .

Following an extensive investigation and police appeal, a man was arrested in connection with the collision on 26 November 2023 and subsequently released under investigation while inquiries progressed.
As a result of the investigation, two charges of causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving have now been authorised against Hurshdip Singh, 22, of Blackshots Lane, Grays.
He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates' Court on Monday, 17 March.
