Marshland flooding bid to bring back wildlife. Plus all the week's other planning applications to Thurrock Council

PLANNING permission is being sought to change the nature of an area of marshland to the east of Thurrock into a 'dynamic' wetland habitat.
Essex Wildlife Trust has applied for permission to restore a piece of grazing marshland at Fobbing Marshes to encourage more birds to visit the site.
They will do so by building a series of bunds and water control structures which will see parts of the land flooded.
Currently the site is too dry through the year and below its potential for wintering and breeding.
It is hoped the changes will attract large numbers of winter wildfowl and wading birds.
