HUNDREDS of residents have paid tribute to the latest knitted creations by a popular youngster from Stanford-le-Hope who has become well-known for his fundraising efforts and remarkable crochet skills.

Stanley Jackson posted pictures on social media of his latest mail post boxe covers – which were his personal tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Readers rallied to pay tribute to him and spoke in glowing terms of his character and commitment to the local community – comments which moved his mum, Kristina to tears.

She said: "I'm in tears reading everyone's kind words to our Stanley. He is incredibly humble and unaware of just how much he makes people smile. We are very proud parents, as are his whole family."

The support of the local community for Stanley is particularly welcome by his family after the youngster came close to packing in his hobby in July after thieves targeted his work and stole some of his Platinum Jubilee box toppers.
