Mum and police plea after girl was injured in zebra crossing collision

THE mum of a six-=year-old girl in collision with an electric bicycle rider in Stanford-le-Hope has joined police in calling for its rider to come forward.

The incident happened when Danielle Brown's daughter was on her way to school. She was on a zebra crossing on Corringham Road when she and the cycle collided.

Danielle says: "On Monday (24 November)at 8.27am my daughter got run over by a bloke on an electric push bike crossing at the zebra crossing on Corringham Road outside the children's centre.

"She suffered severe bruising and a massive gash on her head but luckily no broken bones. 

"We have CCTV of the incident but need the bloke and any witnesses to also come forward."

Police have issued the following statement: "We are asking the bicycle rider to come forward after a collision in Copland Road, Stanford-le-Hope on Monday 24 November.

"At around 8.30am a cyclist and a six-year-old girl were in collision on a zebra crossing. The child needed stitches to her forehead following the incident. The cyclist left the scene before police arrived.

"We need to speak to the cyclist involved. If this was you, please contact us as soon as possible.

"If you have any information, or CCTV, dash cam, or other footage, please get in touch and quote incident 240 of 24 November.
