Mystery of street assault and injuries in Grays High Street

SOMETHING of a mystery surrounds an incident that reportedly happened close to Grays railway station on Friday evening.

It was reported on social media that a woman was assaulted on the corner of High Street and Station Approach.

And that her father then got involved in a confrontation with three men and two girls.

It was reported that the woman was injured in the incident and required hospital treatment - and her father was hurt while 'defending her'.

The woman's mother put an appeal out on social media asking for information about the people involved - wanting them to contact her.

And the local residents' association asked anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers.

However, Essex police say no incident has been reported to them and they are unaware of any appeal for information or that any criminal activity took place.
