Neil's farewell 'tour' after serving borough for almost 30 years. 'Thank you for your service' is the message across Thurrock

ONE of Thurrock's most popular policemen has been spending his last few days on the borough beat catching up with organisations and groups he has worked with over the years.

PC Neil Brand is well known across Thurrock, particularly through his work over 14 years as the borough's police liaison officer with schools, when he also local brownies, rainbows, beavers, cubs, guides, scouts and various other youth groups.

PC Brand talks about his role helping Thurrock celebrate the Queen's Jubilee:

Over recent years his role a Community Safety & Engagement Officer his connections broadened even further has been an integral part in building relationships between Essex Police and the communities in Thurrock. When he's not assisting with local Community Forums, Let's Talk events, Summer fete's and Fayres, PC Brand is working closely with Thurrock Community Safety Partnership, to provide help and safeguarding to local vulnerable people.

PC Brand is about to retire but has taken time out to visit many of the organisations with whom he has forged links.

On a visit to West Thurrock and South Stifford Forum where he shared a platform with local councillors Aaron Green, Lee Watson and Qaisar Abbas he was presented with a special shield, marking his contribution to the area's community.
