New forum will form a bridge for SEND families with council and healthcare providers

By Neil Speight 21st Feb 2022

A LAUNCH event will take place early next month for an organisation offering support to families of children or young adults who have special educational needs or disabilities.

Thurrock SEND Family Forum is the newly formed Parent Carer Forum in Thurrock and says its aim is to listen to the views and experiences of families in Thurrock.

A spokesperson told Nub News: "We will take the feedback we gather to local services in Thurrock Council and health teams to develop and improve services and the support that is available.

"On Saturday, 5 March we are having a launch event, and would welcome families to come along and meet the team and let us know what is working well or not working so well for your child or young adult and any ideas you have for improvements.

"Let us feedback to the council for you. We'll work with the council and most importantly work for better outcomes and feedback to you.

"Come and collect some goodies and children can hunt for our TSFF Teddy! Have a cuppa, a cake and a chat. Drop in anytime between 10 am and 2pm."

The launch event will take place at the United Reformed Church hall on Bradleigh Avenue, Grays, RM17 5XD.
