New Youth Zone is seeking a CEO - but future of controversial project continues to perplex observers

THOUGH a spade has yet to be turned on the site and there are considerable concerns about onging funding for the project - the postition of Chief Executive for Tilbury's plan Youth Zone is being advertisied.
The future of the controversial project is a regular feature at Tilbury Forum meetings and last week Thurrock Nub News highlighted continued concerns that the financial future of the project remains clouded.
The project will be run by On Side Youth Zones, who have yet to secure of confirm an ongoing finance aggreement with either Thurrock Council or the Tilbury Town Board, which is funding the build.
The CEO's post comes with a salary of £60,000 to £65,000.
Among the criteria to fill the post candidates will be:
- Lead the launch and growth of a flagship Youth Zone engaging with the communities that will benefit from it.
- Act as a local ambassador, building bridges across diverse stakeholders-from funders and local authorities to young people and their families.
- Build and embed the first team - shaping the culture, strategy, and operations of a high-impact organisation from the ground up.
