Orsett Remembrance service attended by dignitaries including Lieutenant, MP and Mayor - and most importantly Second World War veteran Reg!

VILLAGERS, visitors and 99 year old Reg Goldsmith attended Chadwell Royal British Legion's annual Remembrance Service at the war memorial in Orsett on Saturday, 8 November.

His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Essex Mrs Jennifer Tolhurst, Mayor Cllr Sue Shinnick, MP James MacMurdock and local councillor Barry Johnson were among thos who laid wreaths, but pride of place went to Reg, who served when he was 17 and a half in India in the last thoes of World War Two.

The service was led by Rev Sharon Ejinkonye.
