THURROCK-based Arts Outburst has released its latest What's On Guide showcasing what's happening over the summer and previewing what's coming up in the autumn.

Look out for our brochures at local Family Hubs and Libraries or pop along to the second floor of the Thameside complex to collect your copy.

This summer Arts Outburst are once again partnering up with Active Essex to run the HAF Summer Programme.

The summer sessions run from 29 July to 30 August and are for children and young people eligible for benefits-based free school meals, living in Thurrock.

Eligible families will have received a WONDE code through their school with instructions on how to book.

The sessions include fun and creative sessions with industry professionals. Nutritious snacks and meals are also provided.

Spaces are available in Grays and Chadwell St Mary for Primary and Secondary aged children.

Arts Outburst has also launched its new project focusing on promoting good mental health in young people and are looking for a group of creative and expressive youth to help us build a new project that will be delivered from November 2024.

Young people will get to discuss, plan and have a go at new art forms that they think are beneficial to them and balancing life as a young person.

There will be four sessions together with a Creative Professional to explore design a programme for young people to try new hobbies and develop skills that can help talking about expressing their mental health.

Daryl Branch, CEO and Artistic Director of Arts Outburst said: "We are really happy to be running our HAF programme in Grays and Chadwell St Mary.

"This is our fourth year and we are looking forward to welcoming our returning attendees and meeting some new ones.

"The programme will be full of drama, dance, music and fun! If your child is eligible get them booked in!

"We are proud to be developing a new Mental Health project for young people in Thurrock. We know that more and more young people are struggling with mental health issues, especially in the aftermath of the COVID years and exploring creative ways to deal with these issues will be of huge benefit.

"Please get in touch with us if you would like more information – we'd love to hear from you!"
