Police update: Overturned lorry on A13 backs up traffic. Appeal for witnesses

TRAFFIC is backing up in the east of the borough because of an overturned lorry involved in a collision with a car on the A13. Police have given an update on the situation at 9am.

The incident happened around 6am on the London-bound carriageway near the junction with the A1089 Dock Approach link road.

A police statement says: "We are at the scene of a two-vehicle collision involving a car and a lorry on the A13 at North Stifford.

"Our officers were called to the London-bound carriageway shortly after 6.15am this morning, Wednesday, 23 March.

"Our enquiries are ongoing, and we need anyone who saw anything or has dash cam footage to contact us.

Traffic is queuing back to Stanford-le-Hope and adjacent approach roads are also clogged up.
