A MUCH-loved family pet his back home this evening 12 days after being stolen from a home in Grange Road, Grays.

A widespread appeal was launched to try and find Ajax – Facebook page was set up by Sue Garrad to help co-ordinate a search and share information.

This evening (Tuesday, 2 March) she reported: "Ajax's family would like to thank everyone for sharing and caring about Ajax. He was returned to the family this evening.

"There are questions we can't answer but the main thing is he is home. They are over the moon he is back with the family.

"Ajax wouldn't be home without the fantastic teamwork of everyone. We really do appreciate all the sharing of his posters, people contacting us with possible sightings, joining his group and making him too hot to handle. Thank you team Ajax!"
