Pickers got busy in Purfleet

PURFLEET-on-Thames looks a little bit tidier after the weekend efforts of a group of litter pickers.

The clean-up event, organised by the local forum, should have taken place a couple of weeks ago but was delayed because the impact of successive storms.

Under blue skies and sun, the volunteers finally got to grips with their picking sticks and gathered in several bags of rubbish from the area when they completed their clean-up on Saturday (26 February).
