Plan to increase numbers after second, successful Grays event

PLANS are afoot to increase the number of entrants after the second running of the Grays 10K and 3K runs in the town today (Sunday, 6 September).

The event, based at Kilverts Field in Grays, was hailed another success with the full subscription to the 10K taken up and lots of participants in the 3K fun run and visitors to the various stall and activites on site offering food, items to buy and information from a range of organisations including Thurrock's RNLI fundraisers.

The event was put together by a team of volunteers, led by Meena Mitra, with support and funding from Grays Riverside Community Big Local and Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions and other organisations.

Meena was delighted with the support in the second year and says: "Our thought are now to extend the numbers, though we will need more volunteers and support - so the work for 2027 starts now!"
