AFTER days and days of incessant rain residents in parts of Grays might well have said 'water, water everywhere'.

But for some this morning in postcodes RM16, RM17 and RM29 there was 'not a lot to drink'.

An Essex & Suffolk Water spokesperson said: "We received several calls from customers in Grays who had no water from 6am on Thursday morning, which we discovered was caused by a leak on a 12" pipe.

"Our teams immediately respondedresi, and the water was back on within three hours while we were in the process of delivering bottled water to our priority service customers.

"We would like to apologise to the customers who were affected by the lack of water and reassure them that work is now underway to complete the repair."
