Police ask borough residents to submit film of illegal off road riders
RESIDENTS across Thurrock are being invited to help local police tackle the problem of dangers off road riders.
The force, which has acquired scrambler and quad bikes to allow speedy access on difficult terrain, has highlighted its 'Operation Caesar' that runs across the borough focusing on the unlawful use of off-road vehicles and has created a portal for residents to submit film of offenders.
A statement says: "While quad bikes, three-wheeled bikes, trail bikes and some other two-wheeled vehicles are built for off-road use, it is against the law to ride them in public parks or on publicly owned land without permission from the local authority.
"Officers from the Community Policing Team have created an online portal for Thurrock residents to submit their videos or CCTV footage of any off-road driving witnessed.
The portal can be accessed here: https://kep.uk.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/operation-caesar?utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery
