Police bring alleged members of drugs supply chain in borough before courts

POLICE have given more details of their recent investigations into a drugs supply ring which involved the Thurrock-based C17 gang.

Last week Thurrock Nub News reported on the pending appearance in court of a Grays man in connection with the police investigation.

Essex Police have now confirmed that Marcel Zawolski, 19, of Dell Road, Grays, is due to appear at Basildon Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 8 March. He is charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin and acquisition or use of criminal property.

Zawolski is one of four men connected with and charged following investigations into drugs supply in Southend and Thurrock.

Christopher Brembah, 34, of Barnabas Road, London, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin.

His arrest came after officers, alongside those from the Metropolitan Police, executed warrants at addresses in Hackney and Cricklewood on Tuesday, 9 February as part of an investigation into drugs supply between London and Southend.

He will appear at Basildon Crown Court on 10 March for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Two other men, Jamie Drysdale, 30, of North Street, Bexleyheath, and Ben O'Leary, 19, of Hudson Crescent, in Leigh-on-Sea, have both been charged with conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine.

O'Leary has also been charged with acquiring/using or possessing criminal property.

Both men are due to Basildon Crown Court on 8 March for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
