Thurrock district commander Chief Inspector Daniel Barnes has given an update following an incident in Grays on Friday (10 April).

The investigation into the disturbance in Clarence Road is continuing at pace and three people, two men in their 50s and a teenage boy, have now been released on conditional bail while we work.

Chief Insp Barnes said: "I understand how concerning this incident would have been to the local community. Violence has no place here.

"I hope you are reassured to know that we responded within five minutes of receiving the call. And while investigative work is ongoing, there will also be additional patrolling officers in the area.

"If you have any concerns or information please come and talk to them or report via live chat on our website. Always call us on 999 if it's an emergency.

"We do believe those involved are known to each other and there appears to be no ongoing threat to our community."
