Things were all quiet and there was no police presence at the Junction Retail Park at 9.30 this evening.

SHOPPERS and staff at a number of stores on the The Junction Shopping Park at Lakeside have commented on an incident earlier this evening (Tuesday, 13 September) which resulted in a large part of the park being closed by police.

The incdent happed in the late afternoon at the park in West Thurrock but so far there has been no official comment on what happened from police.

However, a significant number of officers were involved in cordoning off an area close to the Flannels clothing store and Direct Sports.

It is reported several stores were closed while police carried out forensic investigations.

Some pople have suggested that a shot was fired during adisturbance, but that remains speculation.

Late this evening the area was all quiet and there was no police presence, not any signe of areas being kept secure for further investigation which suggests police enquiries have moved on from the site.

Essex Police have been approached for a comment and updates will follow.
