Police seek help after car smashed into Grays shop front

POLICE officers probing a dramatic incident in Grays last night (Wednesday, 12 March) have called on the public's help as they continue to investigate what happened.

This morning Thurrock Nub News reported on the scene in Orsett Road, where a popular local convenience store suffered major damage after being hit by a vehicle. a neighbouring estate agent's business was also damaged.

A man was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital. However, no detail has been forthcoming about what has subsequently happened to him.

Late this afternoon the following statement was issued by Thurrock Police: "A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a single-vehicle collision in Grays.

"We were called to the scene, in Orsett Road, at around 9.35pm on Wednesday, 12 March, following a report a car had crashed into a shop front.

"A 31-year-old man, from Grays, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving.

"Anyone with information should contact us as soon as possible. Please cite incident 1151 of 12 March."
