Port plays host to tea by the river

GUESTS of Thurrock Re-engage charity enjoyed a tea party hosted by the Port of Tilbury at the historic London Cruise Terminal.

The charity supports vulnerable and lonely people across the borough and local co-ordinator Loraine Coleman said: "This magnificent building, steeped in history, treated our guests to a very memorable afternoon.

"Thank you so much to Lucy and Meena for organising this for us. Thank you to the Tilbury Riverside Project for serving teas.

"Thank you to our lovely volunteer Aileen for organising this event for Thurrock Re-engage.

Happy Birthday Gwen!

"We celebrated five birthdays. One being for our lovely Gwen who was 101.

"Thank you to Geraldine for entertaining us today. These lovely tea parties could not take place without our fabulous volunteers driving our guests and taking such gentle care of them."
