Primary school places are allotted and top councillor thanks education team

THURROCK Council has announced the outcome of primary school applications for the academic year starting in September.
From a total of 2,221 applications, 91.63% have been offered their first choice of primary school. More than 98% of children have been offered a place at one of their top three choices.
Cllr Vikki Hartstean, cabinet member for Children's Services, said: "It is fantastic that over nine in ten children are going to be able to attend their top choice primary school this September and the vast majority of children will be at one of their top three choices.
"I want to say a big thank you to our services who have worked hard to offer school places to over 2,200 children in our borough.
"If you applied online for a primary school place, you can use our online system today to check what school you have been offered. If you didn't apply online, your offer has been sent by post and you should receive it shortly.
"I want to wish the best of luck to everyone that will be starting school in September. This is a really exciting time as children go on to make new friends and discover subjects that can go on to shape their passions and interests for years to come."
