Tesco host an event that's a real Easter treat for borough elderly
GUESTS of Thurrock Re-engage charity enjoyed a pre-Easter treat thanks to volunteers and Tesco at Lakeside.
The store hosted an Easter tea party for older, lonely and vulnerable borough residents who are supported by the charity and its volunteers.
The event was hosted by Tesco Community Champion Angela in Mitchell and her team Claire, Sophie and Sandra and guests and volunteers enjoyed a very delicious tea.
This was followed by a game of bingo with Claire as caller.
Re-engage co-ordinator Loraine Coleman said: "Claire made this so much fun and had us all laughing. The afternoon ended with a lucky draw and everyone won a very generous draw prize.
"Tesco Lakeside and Angela have hosted tea parties for Re-engage Thurrock for the last nine years and all our eight tea party groups always have an amazing time.
"Thank you once again for your lovely warm welcome and a brilliant afternoon. Sending our warmest wishes to you all.
"And thanks to, to all our very dedicated volunteer drivers for driving guests."
