Probe launched after tyre yard and workshop is destroyed in huge blaze

A PROBE has been launched into a fire that destroyed a tyre yard in Thurrock this morning (Sunday, 12 July).
Firefighters were called to the site at the junction of Pilgrims Lane and Stifford Hill in North Stifford just before 2am.
More than 40 firefighters were involved in tackling the fire which consumed buildings and large number of tyres and vehicles.
At 4am, crews reported that the fire was under control.
An investigation will be carried out to find the cause of the fire.
