RAIL services on c2c's Thurrock loop are disputed this afternoon (Sunday, 20 November) after an incident at Rainham station where it is reported someone has been struck by a train.

Train services running across the whole c2c network may be revised.

In mid afternoon there was a large emergency service presence at the scene including London Fire Services, Police and London Ambulance services.

A statement from Lond Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.04pm today (20 November) to reports of a person hit by a train at Rainham Rail Station, Ferry Lane.

"We have sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, two incident response officers, a clinical team leader and members of our hazardous area response team (HART). We have also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

"The incident is ongoing and we are working with our emergency service colleagues."

Anyone looking to travel via Rainham station was advised to seek alternative modes of transport and avoid the area due to possible lengthy delays. Around 4.3pm c2c announced: "Due to Police dealing with an incident earlier, services on the route are now able to run to and from Fenchurch Street, however will not be stopping at Rainham in either direction. Services will still be subject to alterations or cancellations."
