Relay fun in the park boosts MIND

THERE was laughter in abundance at Grays Town Park yesterday (Saturday, 29 August) as part of local support the work of Thurrock and Brentwood Mind.

As part of the fun event, local bike riders who meet regularly at the Proper Vintage Tearooms in Grays, arrived at the park after a run from Brentwood. Fr Paschal Uche from St Thomas of Canterbury RC Church, was among those there to greet them.

Proper Vintage owner Wendy Mills and her team, including husband Ian in Fancy Dress, also greeted the riders and served up a range of fun games and activities.

Wendy, who says her personal debt to Mind for past support they have given her, including counselling, was the inspiration in supporting Mind – who also have a 'Mind Aid' musical event at the Ship pub in Little Thurrock this afternoon and evening.

'Ben the Bear' has been a feature of Thurrock and Brentwood Mind's fundraising and awareness campaign and he was present at the event, having also paid a visit to the nearby Grays Court care complex where he is often the centre of attention as events where Mind support residents.
