RIVERSIDE litter pickers will be out and about in the borough again this week.

The next event organised by River Action Clean-Up Facilitator Steve Catchpole will take place in Tilbury on Wednesday morning (14 September)

Volunteers are asked to meet at the World's End pub on Fort Road (RM18 7NR) at 10.30am. The pick will go on until around 1pm.

Steve says: "Although the large bulky plastic debris is not currently evident on the foreshore, there is still plenty of the equally important pesky pieces to pick up. As usual all equipment will be provided.

"If you can join us, please don't forget your waterproofs."

Future events include:

Saturday, 17 September from 2 to 4pm, meeting at The Wharf pub, Grays RM17 6SZ.

Sunday, 2 October from 10.30am to 12 noon,  meeting at Thurrock Yacht Club RM17 6JF.

Sunday, 6 November from 10:30am to 12 noon, meeting at Thurrock Yacht Club RM17 6JF.
