Samuel adds to his list of achievements with first book

A YOUNG man from Thurrock who is now making a name for himself as a filmmaker in Wales can now add another credit to his list of achievements – author.

In October 2020 Thurrock Nub News reported on honours granted to Samuel Turner which included being nominated for the Pride of Britain Awards and named as 'Fundraiser of the Year' in an event for those involved with charities in Wales.

Samuel, 25, originally from Stanford-le-Hope, is a former student at Treetops School and has a has a proven talent for filmmaking and has won awards for his work, including a film which tells his own story.

Now he has turned that story into a book, called 'The Autistic Side of Love'.

It's a reflection of the true story of Samuel's awareness about life, love and struggles and tells of an autistic young man named Markus and his struggles to cope during the 2020 pandemic in his search for true love in his heart.

Reviews have described the book, which follows the love story of Markkus and autistic girl Prissy who knows someone is waiting to help her to get out of her isolation. As full of unusual laughter, thrilling awareness and love.

His previous "interesting, surreal and inspiring films" include The Story of the Vegetable Man (which won him the Southend Film Festival Short Film Competition in 2012), The Referendum Day of Gibraltar and A Disability Matter of War .

As well as making films Samuel works tirelessly for good causes.
