Head tells of pride in students at Hassenbrook Academy

THE principal of Hassenbrook Academy has paid tribute to the work of the outgoing year 11 at the Stanford-le-Hope School.

Mrs Sally Feeney, Principal of Hassenbrook Academy said: "We are extremely proud of the hard work and effort that year 11 have put in to achieving their results and would of course like to thank pupils, parents, staff and governors for their efforts.

"We wish all of our year 11 well as they go off to their colleges, sixth form providers and apprenticeships, and hope that they will stay in touch to let us know about the exciting things they are doing.

"Despite turbulent times over recent years, including the covid pandemic, Year 11 are celebrating some outstanding results as a result of their hard work, and are excited for their next steps.

"They have shown resilience and strength and have worked hard to overcome difficulties."

The highest performing subjects were the vocational subjects with some outstanding results in Music, Art, Health and Social Care and Travel and Tourism.

The following students were amongst the top performers:

Andreea Balmus with grade 9s in Maths and Science, a grade 8 in Computer Science, and 7s in English Language and Literature is off to do A levels in Maths, Further Maths and Computing at City and Islington College.

Gracie Collins with a 9-8 in Science, 8s in Computer Science and Maths and a Distinction in Travel and Tourism is off to do A levels.

Zuzanna with a 9 in Maths, 2 Distinction * in Art and Health and Social Care, and 7s in Science is off to Art at USP.

Ashley Roope with a 9 in Maths, and 8s in English Literature and Science is off to do A levels.

Alfie Rowden with 7s and 8s in English, Maths and Science is off to do A levels.

Saphire Dumont with 9 in French, 8 in Spanish, 8 in Maths and Distinction in Travel and Tourism is off to Ortu Sixth Form to do A levels.
