'Sorry' says water company and adds that problematic works will be ended today

ESSEX & Suffolk Water has apologised to residents and motorists for two consecutive days of problems on engineering work it is carrying out in Chadwell St Mary but says the work will be concl;uded today (Tuesday, 21 February).

For the past two evening, as reported on Thurrock Nub Nubs, the temporary traffic lights at the junction of Brentwood Road, Linford Road, Chadwell Hill and River View have failed, causing significant traffic disruoption.

Today the water compnay apologised, issuing the following statement: "Work on the repair to our water pipe, and reinstatement of the road surface has now been completed. Traffic management will be removed today, once work to restore the lines in the road is completed.

 "We would like to thank customers and motorists for their patience and apologise for the inconvenience caused.

"We will work with our traffic management supplier to understand the reasons behind the issues with the lights, and any lessons that can be learned for the future."
