Stalker's park walk ends in jail - and other local cases

A MAN was jailed for 12 weeks for walking through a park.

The actions of Jon Hindley, 58, of Foyle Drive, in walking through Dilkes Park in the town put him in breach of a restraining order.

By doing so and encountering Tracy Frewin who was protected by the order to stop him stalking her, he put her in fear,

A CHAFFORD Hundred man faces trail at Basildon Crown Court after pleading not guilty to a number of child sex allegations.

Joe Lloyd, 28, of Calshot Avenue, denies 30 separate charges, many of them historic, of performing sexual acts with a child, including rape, and making indecent sexual images.

RENNEE Nyland, 41, of Gloucester Avenue, East Tilbury, will face trial at Basildon Magistrates' Court next month after pleading not guilty to willfully obstructing a police constable in the execution of his duty.

WAYNE Ashley Barnes, 33, whose address was given as 'no fixed abode' admitted possessing cannabis and heroin. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs and a surcharge totalling £137.

LUKE Ferdinand, 24, of Hobart Road, Tilbury, admitted causing damage estimated at £300 to repair to a door at St Mungo's Hostel in Grays.

He was ordered to pay compensation of £300. There was no order for costs because of his limited means.

RICHARD Silcott, 50, of Galey Green, South Ockendon, admitted stealing electrical goods valued at £208 from House of Fraser, Lakeside.

The offence put him in breach of a previous community order issued for stealing fragrance from the same store.

Silcott was ordered to attend a rehabilitation programme and fined £80, with costs and a surcharge totalling £195.

A SOUTH Ockendon man, Tony Branch, 39, of Eden Green, pleaded not guilty to three charges when he appeared at Basildon Magistrates' Court.

he is charged with causing unlawful damage to a car belonging to Jushna Begum, using threatening behaviour and willfully obstructing a police officer.

He was sent for trial to Basildon Crown Court.

TERRY Luke Dowman, 41, of Wellington Road, Tilbury, will be tried at basildon Crown Court after deniying two charges of assaulting a police officer and wilfully obstructing that office in the course of his duty.

OLALEKAN Aremu, of Lytton Road, Grays, was found guilty of driving a vehicle without insurance and was fined £220 and ordered to pay a surcharge and costs totalling £142.

CHRISTOPHER Payne, 30, of Bradleigh Avenue, Grays, changed his plea and admitted a charge of assaulting Samantha Payne and of using violence to enter premises at South Woodham Ferrers. He will reappear at Basildon Magistrates' Court later this month for sentencing.

MAQHAWEMUELO William Dube, 34, of Kingsman Road, Stanford-le-Hope, pleaded not guilty to harassing Ayshia Willis. he will be tried at Southend Magistrates' Court in may and was relased on condition that he does not contact his alleged victim or witnesses and does not enter Rochford.

Motoring offences

A SOUTH Ockendon man was spared a driving ban after admitting driving while using a hand held phone.

Basildon Magistrates' Court heard that Sonny Buckley, 29, of Dalroy Close, would lose his job if he lost his license - which he should have done under the totting up procedure. He also has caring responsibilities for a 13-year-old autistic girl in cambridge and would not be able to visit her without driving.

He was fined £83, with costs and a surcharge totalling £120. Six points will be added to his licence.

EUSEBIU Halandut, 51, a Romanian living at Milton Gardens, Tilbury, denied a charge of drink driving and is scheduled to appear for trial at Basildon magistrates' Court on 29 May.

MICHAEL Douglas Ugwa, 27, A Nigerian living at Draper Close, Grays, admitted driving without a licence or insurance and resisting a police officer in the course of her duty. He denied a charge of possessing cannabis and will reappare for trial and senetencing at Basildon Magistrates' Court.

CHRISTIAN Joshua Ogiugo, 21, was found guilty in his absence of a number of charges failing to provide police with information about the driver of a vehicle in which an offence was suspected to have been committed.

He was fined £660 and ordered to pay costs of £90 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

JOHN Darling, 53, of Gardner avenue, Corringham, was found guilty of driving 18mph above the permitted speed limit of 40mph on the A127 at Laindon and was fined £300 and ordered to pay a surcharge and costs totalling £122. He received four penalty points.

AMMAR Haif, 44, admitted driving without due care and attention as he overtook a stationary queue of traffic in Chelmsford in September 2018. He was fined £320 and ordered to pay costs and a surcharge totalling £122 and received nine penalty points.

ISAAC Koby Hagan, 33, of Wood View, Grays, admitted driving seven mph over a speed limit of 30mph on Lodge Lane, Grays. He was fined £147 and ordered to pay costs and a surcharge totalling £120. He received three penalty points.
