Stanford had huge turnout for service on the Green.

MORE than 2,000 people attended this morning's annual Remembrance Sunday service in Stanford-le-Hope.
A parade of cadets, scouts and local schoolchildren began the ceremony on the Green, where a service was led by Rev Tom Rout. Parade Marsall was WO Greg Bagshaw of Stanford ATC, 1582 Squadron.
Wreaths were laid by deputy Mayor Cllr Steve Liddiard, East Thurrock MP James McMurdock, local councillors, representatives of local organisations and youngsters from the various cadet corps, scouts and guides and Corringham Athletic youth football club.,

Among those laying a wreath was Stanford man Spencer Oake, who represented East Thurrock Community Association to mark Remembrance weekend. His grandfather, George Knight, fought in Burma and would have been 104 this coming Armistice Day, Tuesday, 11 November.
After the service dignitaries enjoyed refreshments at the ATC Hall.
