Store thanked for Foodbank donation after closure

By Neil Speight   20th Mar 2020

THE generosity of a Thurrock store which has closed down because of the coronavirus pandemic has been praised by a borough charity.

Sandra Sawle, the business co-ordinator at Thurrock Foodbank explained what happened, saying: " Thank you TK MAXX Thurrock.

"Sad to see the store closing but not only have they closed to protect staff and the wider community to help halt the spread of this unseen enemy, they also think of others in crisis at this time.

"THe store cleared their shelves of all food items and generously donated them to the Thurrock Foodbank ... Thank you seems too small words.

"The photograph doesn't give the enormity of their donation justice."
