Teacher will be back in the classroom after probe into assembly allegations

THE Thurrock teacher suspended after a social media outcry last week will return to duty tomorrow after an investigation was concluded.

Thurrock Nub News reported on the furore following comments made at an assembly At Gable Hall School, Corringham.

Today (Sunday, 19 September) the school issued the following statement: "Ortu Gable Hall have concluded their investigation into inappropriate language used by a teacher during an assembly earlier this week.

"Headteacher, Mr Ceri Evans said: 'The investigation has is now concluded, and following the school's disciplinary process, the teacher's suspension has been reviewed and lifted. The member of staff resumes his teaching responsibilities as of Monday, 20 September.

'As the evidence showed, this was an isolated event. Lessons have been acknowledged and learnt. We recognise the unacceptable choice of words used and apologise again for any upset caused.

'We would like to thank parents, students and colleagues for their support, their messages and letters'."
