MORE detail has emerged about yesterday's (Tuesday, 19 September) incident on Grays which saw the windscreen of a bus shattered after a collision near the town's bus station.

Thurrock Nub news reported on the event which saw police close Crown road while they carried out an investigation nto what happened.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called to reports of a collision between an e-scooter and a bus in Station Approach at about 5.05pm on Tuesday 19 September.

"Two teenagers, who were riding the e-scooter, were taken to hospital.

"We worked with colleagues in the ambulance service at the scene and closed the road for a short time."

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 5.04pm with reports that two teenagers on an electric scooter had been hit by a bus on the Station Approach in Grays.

"Two ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene.

"One of the teenagers was transported to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital, while the other was conveyed to hospital by family."
