A THIEF who stole a Christmas wreath from a borough home's front door has been captured on film.

The theft took place last night (Saturday, 30 November) in Little Thurrock, Grays.

Homeowner Peter Hornick was indoors when the theft happened.

He says: "We have experienced a new low after setting up our Christmas decorations this year.

"Our Christmas wreath has been stolen off of our front door while I was in the house with the lights on. "The wreath was tied down to the door knocker with wire.

"This little s**t decided that it was acceptable to take ours and is now probably proudly hanging it on his own front door.

"Who the hell would even think about stealing Christmas decorations?"

The wreath thief was driving a Silver Passat Estate with ladders on a roof rack.

He has been linked to another theft that happened in the area yesterday when a drill was stolen from a home.

Pictures were also taken of the man and the vehicle while that crime was being perpetrated.

Comments on social media say the vehicle, or one very like it, has frequently been seen driving around Buckles Lane n South Ockendon.

Mr Hornick concluded: "Hopefully someone can come put a name to the face and he gets what he deserves."
